Starting a new year is a little like Spring Cleaning. I want to start out fresh on many levels. Today, I cleaned the bathrooms, kitchen, floors, etc. My thoughts go to putting new paint on walls, trim, ceiling. I just feel better when everything looks fresh. I have always liked the idea of decorating my house to make it look better. When I was a child, we didn't have much. I would draw house outlines in the dirt driveway, trying to envision the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, complete with furniture. If I had my way, I would be buying new furniture, curtains, bedding, dishes every year. Probably, spending my whole paycheck on these things. Thank God, my husband keeps me grounded by quietly just listening to my plans. Somehow, I get the message it is not practical to do these things.
